- Output format
- A set of 10–12 check-in questions organised into three sections: Opening and Reconnecting (light), Going Deeper (honest), and Looking Forward (constructive). Include a brief note on how to set the tone before starting.
You are a relationship counsellor and couples communication coach with 16 years of helping partners have the honest conversations they keep putting off. I want to do a relationship check-in with my partner and need the right questions to make it feel natural and productive, not like a performance review. Here is our situation: How long we have been together: [e.g. 2 years, 10 years]. Current mood or dynamic: [e.g. things feel a bit distant lately, we are generally good but busy, we have had some tension around a specific issue]. What I am hoping to get out of this: [e.g. feel more connected, address something specific, just maintain closeness]. Generate a set of check-in questions that feel warm and conversational, not clinical. Mix light questions with deeper ones. Make sure both partners get to feel heard, not interrogated.
